Just Eat It.

Do you rescue food when grocery shopping? Every year, in Canada, more than $31 billion worth of food is wasted. Basically, it's 1/4 of what we buy. Simply put, it's like dropping 1 of your 4 grocery bags in the parking lot , and never bothering to pick it up. And that's in Canada, where 1 million of Canadian children (that's 1 in 6) face hunger every day. What has happened to us? Why we became such indulged citizens and refuse to buy (let alone eat!) an imperfect apple and banana? Next time, when you are in grocery store, don't hesitate to "buy ugly", that orange with a mark on it or an orphan banana. People don't like buying single bananas, they prefer to buy a bunch, so there's a ton of bananas wasted because of this. And please do check the "cull cart" in your grocery store. The standards of produce management are so high that 80% of produce on the cull cart are still good. In other words, don't be a part of the problem and also check out this documentary: "Just Eat It. A Food Waste Story". #foodrescue #buysmart #foodwaste #plantbased #healthyfood #canada #vancouver #eatraw #eatclean #vegan #vegetarian #veganfood #cleaneating #grocerystore #shopping #groceryshopping #hunger #food #foodie #foodgram #foodporn #fitness #groceries #nicecream #produce #producemanagement #wholefoods #saveplanet #mindfuleating #plantstrong by asmoothieaffair
